The UAE's Digital Verification platform now holds more than 42.926 million authenticated digital documents, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) said, according to the state news agency WAM.

The number of documents checked through the platform has risen to more than 1.252 million, and it offers 88 types of digital document issued by 32 federal and local government entities, the agency said.

The figures give a measure of how far the UAE has moved official paperwork off paper. The platform, launched in mid-January 2022, lets government bodies, private companies and individuals instantly confirm that a document issued by a participating government entity is genuine, without asking for the paper original or a certified true copy. It also converts customers' documents into trusted digital versions.

The system runs on blockchain technology, acting as a shared, real-time and encrypted ledger for recording transactions, contracts and documents, according to WAM. Individuals can obtain a trusted digital document from the platform's partners or through the national digital identity app, and share it with third parties over other digital channels. Government entities can add their own documents once they join as partners.

TDRA linked the numbers to a wider push in 2026 to integrate government services, including a programme to help entities build digital identity services into their systems more quickly and securely. It also cited the results of its 2026 digital government customer survey, which it said placed the UAE first globally for satisfaction with digital government services, at 89%, and for their use, at 53%.

The platform was launched under the UAE Digital Government Roadmap 2021-2025, which set a goal of making all government services digital. With 88 document types now available, the next measure of progress is how many more of the country's federal and local bodies join as issuing partners.
