Kanoo Energy plans to build two new manufacturing facilities this year in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), doubling its manufacturing presence in the emirate, the company said at ADIPEC 2026. It is also seeking approvals for a third plant in Fujairah.
Raman Marwaha, Kanoo Energy's general manager for the UAE and Oman and its business strategy lead, gave the details to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) at the Abu Dhabi energy exhibition. He called Abu Dhabi the company's strongest growth market. Kanoo Energy is the energy division of the Gulf conglomerate The Kanoo Group.
Marwaha said the company's compound annual growth rate had been above 30% over the past three or four years, and that its energy business had passed $700 million. He did not say over what period that figure was measured. The expansion matters as an example of what ADNOC's localisation policy is meant to achieve: a supplier building more factories in the UAE and using them to export.
Marwaha said localisation and in-country manufacturing programmes had increased Kanoo Energy's production capacity over the past two years and opened new export markets. He cited ADNOC's Make it in the Emirates initiative and the UAE's 2050 net zero target as sources of demand for engineering and technology work in the energy sector. He named ADNOC as one of the company's main customers.
This year Kanoo Energy added exports to Tunisia, Egypt and Iraq, among other countries, and began setting up offices in Uzbekistan to serve that region, Marwaha said. Exports have become one of the company's main sources of growth. Its plan is to ship products made in Abu Dhabi to international markets from its UAE manufacturing base.
The company did not give the cost or capacity of the two KIZAD facilities, or a timeline for the Fujairah plant. Marwaha said the company is studying expansion into Africa and Southeast Asia in 2027.
