NMDC Group, the Abu Dhabi-listed marine, energy and engineering contractor, signed a string of agreements at ADIPEC 2026, including a memorandum with e& UAE on digital transformation and a long-term cooperation framework with the China Chamber of Commerce for the Petroleum Industry, the company said.
The deals, announced as the four-day energy exhibition closed in Abu Dhabi on November 5, span the group's main businesses. Several are aimed at producing in the UAE equipment and services that are now largely imported, in line with the push by ADNOC and other state energy companies to channel procurement to local manufacturers.
NMDC Energy, the group's onshore, offshore and renewables unit, signed the memorandum with e& UAE to deploy smart energy solutions and advanced industrial communications systems across its operations. NMDC Energy also agreed a memorandum with Borouge International to study using Borouge's pipeline coating products on large energy infrastructure projects in the region.
The framework agreement with the China Chamber of Commerce for the Petroleum Industry (CCCPI) is intended to explore bilateral work in supply chains, manufacturing and energy infrastructure projects, according to the announcement.
In the marine business, NMDC Dredging & Marine formed a three-way partnership with Teledyne Marine and Saitech Gulf UAE focused on advanced marine surveying, subsea equipment support and hydrographic surveying, which maps the physical features of the seabed. NMDC Infra set up a cooperation framework with Tekmar to localise solutions for protecting and stabilising subsea assets and infrastructure in the UAE, with an emphasis on manufacturing concrete mattresses and marine stabilisation supports locally.
Chief executive Yasser Zaghloul said resilience had moved to the top of every board's agenda and that the group's model rests on its fleet, its own fabrication yards and practical uses of AI "working alongside our experienced engineers". He said the agreements would help localise critical capabilities in the UAE and strengthen the company's subsea, survey and digital work, adding that "growth for us has never been about size alone".
NMDC, which is marking its 50th year, used the exhibition to show its engineering, procurement, construction and modular fabrication capabilities, its marine fleet, autonomous deep-sea technology and AI tools developed in-house to improve safety and project delivery, the company said.
All of the agreements announced are memoranda or frameworks, and the company did not disclose values, timelines or the scope of any contracts that might follow.
