Commercial Bank of Dubai has signed agreements and memorandums of understanding with seven technology companies. Most of them involve artificial intelligence, and they cover areas from compliance screening to the bank's legal department. The bank announced them at the Dubai FinTech Summit 2026 in a press release.
The largest name on the list is Microsoft. CBD said that partnership covers enabling AI across the bank and developing AI use cases in its different business functions.
The deals show a mid-sized UAE lender pushing AI beyond customer-facing apps into its back office, compliance and legal teams. These are the areas where Gulf banks face heavy regulatory workloads.
With Silent Eight, CBD will explore AI-powered name screening, which checks customers and transactions against sanctions and watch lists. The bank said the aim is to strengthen compliance, operational efficiency and risk management. The release describes the arrangement as exploratory and gives no deployment timeline. Several of CBD's UAE rivals already work with Silent Eight. Emirates NBD, Mashreq and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank each announced partnerships with the company in 2024 to automate compliance alert handling or screening investigations.
The bank also agreed a strategic collaboration with Comarch AI Wealth to support development of its digital wealth platform and investment products. With Zamp, it will work on operational changes using intelligent automation and AI-driven tools.
Three of the agreements cover legal technology. CBD said its work with Harvey, Sirion and Flank will support its legal operations, governance frameworks and contract lifecycle management. Harvey makes AI tools for lawyers. Sirion specialises in contract lifecycle management software.
None of the announcements included financial terms.
Chief executive Bernd van Linder said the summit "continues to strengthen the UAE's position as a global center for financial innovation". He said CBD's investments in digital transformation, artificial intelligence and Open Finance were aimed at delivering value for customers and supporting the UAE's long-term goals for financial services.
CBD was the summit's strategic banking partner. The event was held over two days at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai and organised by the Dubai International Financial Centre. Van Linder spoke at the summit's main plenary on the future of finance. The bank also took part in a session on how financial institutions are scaling agentic AI in core banking.
Before the summit, CBD hosted a qualifying round of the FinTech World Cup, in which six fintech companies pitched payments and financial services products. DeFa by InvoiceMate won and moves on to the competition's grand final at the summit.
CBD has used the summit for partnership announcements before. At the 2025 edition it signed memorandums with TCS, Nexthink and CODE81.
