Arab Bank Group reported net profit after tax of $902 million for the first nine months of 2026, up 10% from $818 million in the same period last year, according to results reported by Al Bayan.

The group's total assets rose 5% to $81 billion. Its credit facilities portfolio grew 4% to $42.5 billion, and customer deposits rose 6% to $59.3 billion.

Chairman Sabih Masri said the results showed the group could deliver positive results across all its main business lines. He credited its wide geographic reach, diversified revenue, risk discipline and commitment to digital transformation. He said the performance came despite geopolitical challenges and continued uncertainty affecting businesses in the region and globally.

Chief executive Randa Sadik said growth was supported by an 11% increase in non-interest income. She described this as evidence that the bank's push to build varied revenue sources is reducing its reliance on traditional interest margins.

Capital and Liquidity

Sadik said non-performing loan ratios were stable and that provisions covered more than 100% of non-performing loans. The group's capital adequacy ratio was 17.4% under Basel III rules, above the minimum required by the Central Bank of Jordan. Its loan-to-deposit ratio stood at 72%. She said this gives the bank room to keep growing and to pursue opportunities in its markets.

AI in Banking Operations

Sadik said the bank's digital transformation strategy now makes significantly more use of artificial intelligence in core banking operations. She said it is being used to redesign the digital customer experience, automate internal processes and strengthen risk analysis, and that the bank has launched a range of new digital services. The bank did not give figures on its technology spending or the financial effect of these projects.

Arab Bank is one of the region's largest banking groups and operates across the Middle East. The results did not include a stand-alone third-quarter figure.
