Terra Invest, a Singapore-based investment firm, has taken part in a strategic funding round for AIREV, the Abu Dhabi agentic AI company that develops the OnDemand platform, according to a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on Wednesday. Neither company disclosed the size of the round or AIREV's valuation.
AIREV said the money will go towards its expansion plans and towards building what it calls sovereign AI products: systems that customers can run on their own devices, on their own premises or in national data centres, so that sensitive data stays under local control.
The chairman of AIREV is Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE's Minister of Foreign Trade. WAM said the deal follows his recent visit to Singapore, where he discussed bilateral trade and investment with Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong and Minister Dr. Tan See Leng.
Portfolio Deployments
The two companies said they will launch joint projects with two of Terra Invest's portfolio companies. The first is Kairos Wealth, an operating system for wealth managers and family offices. AIREV will build its agents into the platform for four uses: intelligent trading, portfolio management, financial advisory, and compliance and regulatory technology. The statement said the partnership is also meant to make it easier for international investors to reach UAE and regional markets.
The second is Shookra, a physician-led practice focused on longevity, aesthetics and regenerative medicine. The two will run a smart-ring programme called Shookra One on OnDemand, using biometric data, diagnostics and protocols designed by doctors.
"We built OnDemand as a sovereign agentic AI operating system that runs wherever our customers need it, from an on-premises appliance to a national data centre," said Muhammad Khalid, AIREV's co-founder and chief executive. He said Terra Invest's investment would let the company do that "from Abu Dhabi, at scale."
Krishan Rattan of Terra Invest said his firm invests "where capital, policy and technology converge" and that backing AIREV gives it a route into the UAE's capital markets agenda and into healthcare. "We chose the UAE because this is where the next generation of regulated AI businesses is being built," he said.
Al Zeyoudi said the deal shows growing confidence among international investors in the UAE as a place to develop and deploy advanced technologies.
Scale of the Platform
AIREV was founded in Abu Dhabi in September 2023 and is held through a company registered in Abu Dhabi Global Market. According to the company, OnDemand is a no-code and low-code platform with more than 300 specialised agents. It serves more than four million users in over 50 languages. AIREV said the platform processed 6.8 trillion tokens in the second quarter of 2026, about six times the figure a year earlier.
Why It Matters
The deal is small next to the multi-billion-dollar infrastructure agreements the UAE has signed with US AI groups. It reflects a different strategy: getting locally built agentic AI into regulated industries such as wealth management and healthcare, where data residency and compliance often decide which vendors can bid. It also gives the UAE another investment link with Singapore, a competitor as a regional hub for finance and technology.
WAM placed the deal against wider national figures. It said the UAE attracted $48.3 billion in foreign direct investment in 2025, ninth in the world, and that the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 aims for AI to contribute about $91 billion (AED335 billion) by 2031.
