Tencent Cloud has agreed a partnership with OmniOps, a Saudi company that develops sovereign AI infrastructure technology, to support the development and deployment of enterprise AI in Saudi Arabia. The companies announced the deal at the 2026 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit in Shenzhen, Fintech News Middle East reported.
Tencent Cloud will provide the infrastructure to host computing capacity, along with technical expertise. OmniOps will contribute its inference technology, local deployment capabilities and knowledge of the market. The resources will support enterprise AI platforms and model inference workloads for customers across the kingdom.
The service will run on Tencent Cloud's virtual machines, storage and networking. OmniOps will add its own inference optimisation engine on top, which adapts how models are served to the hardware underneath. OmniOps says the engine is meant to deliver capacity, lower token costs and steady performance as demand grows.
Both companies tied the deal to rising demand for computing capacity as more Saudi organisations move AI from trials into production. Poshu Yeung, senior vice president and head of international at Tencent Cloud, said the aim was "to expand access to the resources needed to support the Kingdom's continued AI growth." Mehdi Tantaoui, chief product officer at OmniOps, said the partnership expands the infrastructure behind the company's platforms and inference workloads in Saudi Arabia, while letting it keep building AI services designed around what organisations in the kingdom need.
The announcement did not disclose financial terms, the amount of computing capacity involved or where in Saudi Arabia it will be hosted.
Why It Matters
The deal reflects the growing weight of inference, the work of running trained models for users, in Gulf AI spending. Companies want to run that work close to home under local control. It also shows Chinese cloud providers expanding their partnerships in the region. In Dubai, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has separately signed an agentic AI adoption agreement with Alibaba Cloud. For Saudi enterprises, it adds another source of in-country capacity as the kingdom builds out its AI infrastructure.
