European regulators published draft guidance on Tuesday outlining how independent audits of large AI models should be conducted under the bloc's AI rules.

The guidance proposes a compute-based threshold above which developers would need to commission third-party audits before deployment.

Industry groups have until next month to submit comments before the guidance is finalized.
